This rating is based purely on my own taste, not on the quality of the coffee.
As a drinker of medium roast beans, I was disappointed in Burning Cliff. No matter the dose or yield, I couldn’t get an espresso that was enjoyable. Even as a milk drink, the bitterness over powered it and these beans came across as a dark roast.
I’m using an expensive set up, so I know it’s not my equipment. Sad, because the notes are what I would usually go for.
That being said, I gifted the bag to my Father who does enjoy a more bitter tasting coffee and he is thoroughly enjoying it.
If you’re looking for bitterness, great coffee. If you’re looking for a sweeter more balanced blend, I don’t think this one is for you.
