COFFEE STORY - SAN FELIPE

This coffee comes from the Santa Rita farm located in the shadows of the Santa Ana volcano. This is the highest volcano in El Salvador and the source of rich volcanic soils well known for producing great coffee. The farm is owned by the Salaverria family. They are now into the 6th generation of coffee producers. The tradition of the family is generally to do a lot for the local community including donating land for a school in San Francisco, El Salvador.

AT THE FARM

Santa Rita is one of the Salaverria’s larger farms spanning 161 hectares in total. It is in high latitudes for El Salvador and the trees on the farm always look amazing. Different coffee varieties are planted in steep hillsides. The coffee cherries are fully washed and pulped using a Jotagallo eco-pulper at their central mill, Las Cruces.
